Great Conclusion to Charade, and What We Will Be Watching Next Thursday!

For all of you who didn’t see the end, it turns out that Cary Grant was a super undercover agent, and Hamilton Bartholomew who we though was a CIA agent turned out to actually be Carson Dyle, responsible for the deaths of all the other Paratrooper gold hiders. I don’t remember completely, but the gold couldn’t be found because it was exchanged for extremely rare stamps, which ended up in the possession of the little water pistol boy, who traded them away to a collector, who was happy to give them back to Audrey Hepburn, who in turn brings them back to Cary Grant who she plans to marry, and have male children so he can jokingly name them after all of his identities. Without a doubt, that was a run-on sentence.

Targets

Next Week, Thursday the 11th, we will be starting Targets (1968), Peter Bogdanovich’s first film, a true American masterpiece that has endured time. It a thriller which keeps you on the edge of your seat till the end, while still being a cinematic masterpiece. It has a great set up for how it was made that makes the film even better:
Roger Corman told Peter Bogdanovich he could make any film he wanted to, with two conditions: he had to use stock footage from The Terror (1963), and he had to hire Boris Karloff for two days (Karloff was under contract and owed Corman those two days). Karloff was so impressed with the script that he refused pay for any shooting time over his contracted two days.
